Nostos continues to adopt additional security and thorough cleaning measures

Disinfectants are used to clean the room structure and common areas

All staff wear personal protective equipment, such as masks and gloves

We provide gloves for guests and hand sanitizer in the lobby.

A check-in / check-out method is available that does not require direct contact.

We ask you to send us your documents within 24 hours of check-in.

Upon arrival, it is recommended to wear a mask and gloves and collect the keys while keeping the safety distance at the collection point





How can I book?

It is possible to  make a reservation with our online booking engine directly in our internet site, you must simply follow the instructions given by the program.

Nostos relies on Visioni to ensure maximum security for their customers in online transactions of payments through credit cards and the handling of sensitive data.

Safety is also guaranteed thanks to the highest level of encryption with SSL 256bit.

During the booking process you’ll see a blue bar that guarantees the identity of those who operate the transaction online, real-time certified by GeoTrust ®.

Can I book by phone or by email?

Alternatively, it is always possible to make a reservation by phone call or by sending emails.

I made a reservation through Booking or Expedia , can I cancel and book directly with you?

You must fist follow the cancellation policy indicated by the portals themselves because there are  non refutable rates involving  specific penalties. Once  made the cancellation  you can book directly with us using the methods described above.

I made a reservation but I did not receive from the B & B the confirmation or the address of the accommodation. How do I do? 
The B & B Nostos sends you an e-mail confirmation immediately after receiving the booking form duly filled and after having charged the deposit. If you do not receive the booking confirmation within 2 working days, please get in phone contacting us immediately. In the absence of communication from you we will consider that you have received our confirmation.

To reserve a room, the system ask me to insert my credit card details, why? 

The number of your credit card is used from the B&B just to guarantee your booking or, in case of No Show, the B&Bb reserves the right to charge on the card the corresponding cost of the reservation. For more information read the cancellation policy.

According to what is written on the booking form is required to pay a deposit via credit card. If I do not want to give my card number by email or fax, there is another way to pay the initial deposit? 
The deposit can be paid by bank transfer or via PayPal. In this case, we will provide the data necessary to make this type of payment.

I made a reservation that did not provide for any payment in advance. Why my bank contacted me to inform that it was taken from the B&B the amount of the reservation from my card?

The b&b has not taken any amount, it has just done a pre-authorization, a system of verification and warranty adopted to verify the accuracy of the credit cards provided by the guests at the time of a booking. Do not be surprised if two / three weeks before the date of your arrival at our b&b, the availability on your credit card will be reduced by an amount equal to the cost of the first night you have booked.
It ‘a temporary “freeze”, a freeze on the amount blocked.
This operation does not generate any kind of movement on the bank account of the customer because it is not recognized, therefore, it’s not a CHARGE. The amount “frozen” will be released immediately upon your arrival at the B&B.

The price listed on the website is per person? 
No. The price is per room per night.

I made a reservation type Bed & Breakfast Non-refundable Book and Pay Now, when you have to pay?

In this case the entire stay will be charged to your card any time after booking.

Or if payment is made by bank transfer this has to be done for the entire stay upon booking.

Can I contact the B&B Nostos before my arrival? 
Yes. Together with the confirmation of your booking we will sent you a form with all the data needed to reach the accommodation. In addition, all phone numbers are listed on the website.


What time is the check-in? 
The check-in starts at 14:00 and ends at 19.00. For special requires, it is preferable that you indicate your arrival time at the moment of booking or contact us by email, sms or a phone call as soon as possible to communicate us the new arrival time for example in case of a flight delay , a night arrival or a program change. To know it will help us to serve you better. This information is clearly marked in the descriptions and booking forms / confirmation. If during the day of your arrival there are other departing guests, we will kindly ask you to check-in with a slight delay in order to complete the cleaning of the room. You can leave your luggage from 13.00 at the B&B, anyway.

Will I get the keys of the room and the front door of the B&B at the time of check-in
The delivery of keys (door, front door and bedroom), takes place immediately after the check-in of the guest. Keep in mind, however, that the owner should can have access to your room for the daily cleaning and in case of emergencies.

The owner can access to my room, during my stay at the b&b? 
Only under your permission. But keep in mind that the landlord must be able to access in case of emergency, and – particularly in the B & B – to do the daily cleaning.



What type of breakfast is served in the B&B? 
Normally it is a sweet continental breakfast consisting in coffee, tea, milk, Cappuccino, croissants, handmade cakes, butter, jam, sandwiches and typical Sicilian specialties.

If you have special needs please tell us before for example early departures or food intolerance so we will work to indulge them.

The breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:00


How often do you clean the room and the bathroom? 
The rooms and bathrooms in the B&B are cleaned daily, no later than 11:00 am leaving the room available for the cleaner.

In the B&B there are towels and bed linen? 
Yes, they are always present together with a kit of toiletries (soap and shampoo).

How often are they changed? 
Bed linen and towels need to be changed for each new customer. For stays of a week minimum, must be changed at least 2 times every 7 days. For towels, instead, there is a daily change.


There is a maximum time for the return to the b&b in the evening? 
No, the time is free, the guest will have total autonomy.

How to get to the B & B Nostos 

We arrive in Syracuse by train / bus as is the B & B from the train station and the Terminal Bus Station? How can I get to the B & B?

The railway and Siracusa Bus Terminal Station are close to each other and the bus terminal is located in the same street as the B & B Nostos: Corso Umberto I. The easiest way to get there is on foot, after a walk of just under 10 minutes, going slowly and with luggage in tow. There is also a taxi service for those with special needs.

Arrival in Sicily through the plane lands at the airport of Catania, how can I get to Syracuse?

From Catania airport buses run regularly to Syracuse: these are the companies INTERBUS, AST. We also have the possibility to organize the transference of Taxi our partners


The b&b has a private car park? 
No. But parking in the area is very easy to find.

Where can I park? 
Along the Corso Umberto I (just below the B&B) you can park on the blue parking lines, buying a ticket at the Tobacco Shops or at the reception of the B&B.. The price is € 0.80 per hour, for a stay of 4 hours, the price is 2.50 €. The parking must be paid from 9 am to 13 and from 16 to 20, on Sundays parking is free. It is  also possible to buy the ticket sending an sms  writing   PARK  CAR PLATE to the number 4.893.893 (For one hour ticket)  or PARK4  CAR PLATE for 4 Hours

You can also park for free along all the side streets adjacent to the Corso Umberto I (for ex. Viale Montedoro, Via Malta , Via Palermo) in the white lines.

Is it possible to park on the yellow parking lines? 
No, yellow parking lines are reserved for residents of the island of Ortigia.

There are private parkings nearby the B&B? 
Yes, if you do not want park the car along the road on the free or on payment lines, there are several private parking including parking Molo Sant’Antonio (via Benghazi / via Rhodes), located 600 meters away from the B&B. It is a private parking with ticket machine (€ 1,00 / hour for the car) and the Talete Parking inside Ortigia island (covered, € 0.50 for the first hour and € 1 for the next few hours).


What time is check-out? 
Check-out time is by h. 10:30. You can still ask us to leave your luggage and pick them later in the day.

If my departure is scheduled in the afternoon or evening, can I stay at the B&B or leave my luggage there? 
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, these are agreements that you have to take directly with the landlord. We recommend guests to inform the owner, upon arrival, about their needs.
